Who are Prospero People?

Prospero People was founded by Yvonne Anderson (CIPD), a Human Resources and Organisational Development expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. She is particularly interested in the areas of Culture & Engagement and Leadership & Team Development. Yvonne uses a combination of her skills, knowledge and experience to support businesses and their employees through problems, challenges and opportunities on a one-off, project or retained basis.

What was your main driver for finding a new accountant?


I was a sole trader up until about a year and a half ago – at that point, the accounts and trying to keep that up to speed was becoming something that I wanted to outsource. I knew Nicole and Robert from working alongside each other in the past and I was aware of what they were doing at Sllick. It was important that it was someone who knew and understood Xero because I was working well with that.

Why did you choose to work with Sllick?


I like working with people who are progressive and who are forward-looking rather than backwards facing. I wanted someone who was interested in my business and in me, who would support and give advice for me and the business. I also quite like learning from the people that I'm working with so their techniques for onboarding clients, etc, all that was important.
I knew Nicole and Robert from the past, so I knew that their accounting knowledge is good as well. When you pay for a service, you want to make sure that people know what they're talking about. It was a great combination of future focus, Xero expertise and accounting knowledge. I also like supporting growing businesses, start-up businesses, so all of that led me to working with Sllick.

How satisfied were you with our solutions and working with our team?


I mean it’s really good so far. I have needed some reassurance in what I was doing and making sure that I was using Xero correctly, so that's been good, I've enjoyed that there's been a real interest in me and the business, and I've also appreciated the knowledge of how to make my business work more efficiently.

Would you recommend Sllick to other businesses?


I would and I have done already. Particularly those that have Xero that want to get the best out of it, those that are happy with that kind of modern, online approach to business. For me, my finances and my accounting were fairly straight-forward so I needed just a straightforward accounting service. The Sllick team are all very easy to deal with and I prefer that kind of personal connection – it’s really important when you're paying for a service.
