It’s a People Business

When I spoke to Nicole, I immediately liked her and I liked what she was about – her ethos, her personality, she was so un-accountancy, very friendly, very personable, and I just thought “Yeah, I like you.” This was very important for me because you have to do business with people that you like and respect. I had a conversation with her and I told her about my concerns, where she was very straightforward and professional about what she could do for my business and about moving my business to Xero. Previously, all of my accounts had been done manually and all I received about my business were the profit and loss reports at the end of each month, which didn’t mean very much to me. So Sllick was a brilliant recommendation and I haven’t looked back since then.

What I like about working with Sllick is that I was always under the impression that I was getting good coverage for accounts previously, but there was actually quite a lot of things they were not doing particularly well. The thing with Sllick is that they’re there, you can approach them at any time, but you’ve also got visibility of your own accounts through Xero, which gives me the comfort that I am in control of things. This is in stark contrast to my previous experiences of accountants, where I always felt that somebody else controlled it. So it’s a different level of service, it’s a much better level of service. When you don’t know what a good accountant looks like, it’s very difficult to benchmark it, whereas now that I’m working with Sllick it’s like night and day.

It helps with business development too because as a business owner, I could have the option to outsource my finances fully to someone else and not understand it, but now that I’m more involved with my accounts I have more control and awareness of the direction my company is going.
